Our

Plant and facility

Sickle cell screen Rapid test is a specific type of rapid test kit designed for the determination of hemoglobin type in whole blood (capillary/venipuncture). It utilizes a principally sandwich based lateral flow assay, which incorporates monoclonal antibodies to detect three specific types of hemoglobin: hemoglobin A, hemoglobin S, and hemoglobin C.

The purpose of the Sickle cell screen Rapid test is to provide a point-of-care method for determining different hemoglobin phenotypes. It can identify the presence of HbAA (normal hemoglobin), HbSS and HbSC (sickle cell disease), HbCC (hemoglobin C disease), as well as HbAS and HbAC (carrier or trait status).

Early identification of individuals with sickle cell disease or carriers of the trait is important for appropriate medical management and genetic counseling. The Sickle cell screen Rapid test is one tool that can aid in the detection and identification of specific hemoglobin phenotypes, providing valuable information for healthcare professionals involved in the care of individuals at risk for sickle cell disease.

FAQ

The VoxPress Sickle Cell Screen detects hemoglobin A, hemoglobin S, and hemoglobin C using highly specific monoclonal antibodies. This allows for the resolution of six different hemoglobin phenotypes: HbAA, HbAS, HbAC, HbSS, HbSC, and HbCC.

Yes, the VoxPress Sickle Cell Screen has received approval as an IVD from the CDSCO and the ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research).

The VoxPress Sickle cell Screen Rapid test is a double antibody lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay. The test cassette consists of 1) a nitrocellulose membrane strip containing three test line (HA, HS and HC) pre-coated with monoclonal antibodies and a control line (C line) pre-coated with Goat anti Mouse IgG. 2) Conjugate pad containing monoclonal antibodies to sickle cell conjugated with colloidal gold. When an adequate volume of test specimen applied to the sample well of the test cassette, the specimen migrates by capillary action across the cassette. Hemoglobin variant A, S and C, if present in the specimen, will bind to the antibody and will form the complex with coated and conjugated antibodies. The immune-complex migrates on the membrane, when it reaches the test line; it will be captured by pre-coated antibodies and forms a visible Pink Purple band. The control line is a procedural control should appear always if the test procedure instructions are properly followed

The VoxPress Sickle Cell Screen can be used to screen individuals of all ages (from zero to 40 years) and is particularly ideal for newborn screening. Each monoclonal antibody in the Sickle Cell Screen is highly sensitive to its respective hemoglobin and does not react to fetal hemoglobin. This means that even newborns with very high levels of fetal hemoglobin and low levels of other hemoglobins can be confidently screened.
2 year from the date of manufacture.
The VoxPress Sickle Cell Screen should be stored away from moisture at room temperature (between 2 and 40 degrees Celsius)
Each VoxPress Sickle Cell Screen test kit includes a test device, a blood transfer dropper (blood dispenser), an assay buffer (blood treatment buffer), a sterile lancet, and an alcohol swab.
The VoxPress Sickle Cell Screen rapid test has consistently demonstrated >99% sensitivity and >99% specificity.
